Madushan Joel ("we", "us", or "our") built the PowerLog app (formerly KyLogs) as an ad-supported application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. Please read this policy carefully. By using PowerLog, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
Account Information: If you choose to sign in using Google Sign-In (via Firebase Authentication), we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account.
Fitness Data: Workout routines, exercises, sets, reps, weights, body measurements (weight, height, body fat, chest, arms, waist, thighs), BMI records, water intake, and personal notes you enter into the app.
Preferences: App settings such as measurement units (metric/imperial) and display preferences.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
Advertising Data: Our app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. Google AdMob may automatically collect device information, advertising identifiers, IP address, and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google processes this data.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect your precise location.
We do not access your contacts, call logs, or SMS messages.
We do not access your camera or microphone.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
2. How Your Data Is Stored
Offline-First Design: All your fitness data (workouts, measurements, notes) is stored locally on your device using an SQLite database. We do not upload your fitness data to any external server.
Local Database (SQLite): Your workout logs, body measurements, routines, and notes are stored entirely on your device in a local SQLite database.
Shared Preferences: App settings and preferences are stored locally on your device.
Firebase Authentication: If you sign in with Google, your authentication credentials are managed securely by Firebase. We do not store your Google password.
3. Backup & Restore
PowerLog provides two backup options:
Local Backup: You can export your entire database as a .db file to your device's Downloads folder. This file stays on your device and is fully under your control. The app requests the "All files access" permission on Android to write backup files to the Downloads folder.
Cloud Backup (Google Drive): You may optionally back up your database to your personal Google Drive account. This backup is stored in your private Drive storage and is accessible only to you. We do not have access to your Google Drive files.
4. Third-Party Services
PowerLog uses the following third-party services that may collect information:
Google AdMob: Used to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Drive API: Used only when you voluntarily initiate a cloud backup or restore. See Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Permissions
PowerLog requests the following device permissions:
Internet: Required for Google Sign-In, Google Drive backup, and serving advertisements.
Storage / All Files Access: Required to export your database backup file to the Downloads folder and to import a backup file from your device. This permission is used solely for the backup and restore feature.
6. Children's Privacy
PowerLog is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take steps to delete such information.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal fitness data with any third parties. Your workout logs, body measurements, and notes remain on your device (or in your private Google Drive if you choose to back up). The only data shared with third parties is through:
Google AdMob, which may collect device-level data for advertising purposes.
Firebase Authentication, which processes your sign-in credentials.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
Your fitness data is stored locally and persists until you uninstall the app or manually clear app data.
You can delete all your data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage from your device settings.
Cloud backups on Google Drive can be deleted directly from your Google Drive.
9. Security
We value your trust and strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting your data. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Your local database is stored in the app's private internal storage directory, which is sandboxed by the Android operating system and not accessible to other apps.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes.
